vivo in Somalia

Since 1991 the country has no functioning governemt and is considered as failed state. Throughout the past 13 years, vivo has cooperated with local and international organizations to implement projects in Somaliland, the North-Western part of Somalia.

vivo’s studies helped other international organizations to understand the psychological problems Somalis are currrently facing. Large proportions of the population have experienced traumatic war events, famine, destruction of social ties and has to cope with non-existent medical services. vivo aims to assist individuals with complex psychological problems andf their families by developing adopted community-based treatment tools. Due to the security situation, there is currently no project within Somalia, we work with Somali refugees in neigboring countries.
