Training workshops in NET
Narrative Exposure Therapy NET was developed at the University of Konstanz in Germany by Frank Neuner, Thomas Elbert and Maggie Schauer. The originators of NET are also Co-founders of vivo international. In their endeavour to grant open and global access to this treatment method, they decided for NET to remain unrestricted. Therefore, there is no mandatory certification system for NET and Narrative Exposure Therapy is not commercially protected as a method, other than with a registered word-figurative trademark – for the purpose of recognition – which is owned by the originators Schauer/Neuner/Elbert.
While some trained practitioners feel confident using Narrative Exposure Therapy NET based on the original manual (Schauer, M., Neuner, F., Elbert, T. (2005 1st Edition, 2011 2nd Edition, 3rd Edition in preparation) Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET). A Short-Term Treatment for Traumatic Stress Disorders. Cambridge/Göttingen: Hogrefe Publishing. ISBN: 978-0-88937-388-4), NET workshops are conducted worldwide by experienced trainers.
The duration and intensity of the training is flexible, depending on the therapeutic knowledge and experience of the trainees. Once you start practicing NET, it is advisable to receive clinical consultation in support of your first NET therapies.
