In August, the vivo counselling team in Gulu, Uganda participated in a two-day training course facilitated by Wibke Angelike, a trainer and mediator of non-violent conflict resolution working for the German Civil Peace Service in cooperation with the Justice and Peace Department of the Gulu Archdiocese.<\/p>\n

The training reviewed different ways of communicating, both in theory and through various exercises suggested by the trainer. The team also analysed the different moments of intervention during a conflict as mediators, as well as the different types of negotiation (e.g., accommodation, compromise, collaboration, etc.).<\/p>\n

They were able to apply what they had learned through concrete case studies proposed by the trainer. As well as being educational, it also enabled the team to have a good time together and to leave even more united than before.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
